Yesterday was pretty awesome. I was sitting in the lions den and Alex popped in and told me to hop on yahoo. I get on yahoo and he said that he wanted to head up my way and go on a little chase. I was a bit reluctant at first because I had to help man the FOX chat and it was not really planned for it. I was then told that the FOX chat was under control so I got a hold of Alex and told him I was ready to hit the road with him. After it took him what seemed like forever to get to my house (city traffic around 6pm is not fun) we checked radar and hit the road. Finally we ended up in Elk River and watched a monster shelf cloud heading to us. It made me feel like a ant. For something being so spur of the moment, it was awesome. I hope to get at least one more chase in this year before the season is over.

Bobby and Steves
Little Car show this weekend at Bobby And Steves in MPLS, When I say little. I mean little, was a bad location. The area gave me no inspiration really when it came to taking pictures which is why this set lacks in that area. I covered the cars I liked the best. Hope you enjoy.

7-17-2010 Chase
What an awesome day to say the least. Met up with Duane and Jon at my house and Headed to Wilmar to meet up with Preston and Alex. We got out to Wilmar and were at a little hotel using their wifi watching radar and a developing super cell that was to the north east. After making some food from the cooler in the trunk we decided to hit the road and head after this cell. We eventually stopped just south west of Paynesville to view this monster and all I am able to say is WOW! The structure on this thing was just amazing, the color on the hail core was a color I have never seen in a storm in my life, there were reports of baseball/softball size hail. It was turquoise/blue, words are just unable to describe what we saw, Good thing I was able to snap photos. After we chased that storm for quite awhile (it started to get too close to the cities, and chasing storms near populated areas like that is just a bad idea) we decided to head north of St. cloud to go after another storm. This storm had a monster of a Shelf cloud and very heavy winds. We measured a gust of 50mph which is fairly decent. Where other locations from the same storm reported 70+ mph winds. Storm chasing and hanging out with buddies. Does it get any better than that? I don't think so.
It was great to see Jon and Duane again, And was awesome to meet Alex and Preston finally. I hope to go chasing with this group of goons again sometime soon. Enjoy the pics!

Lightning show
What an amazing show put on by mother nature last night, Could not get any better. little rain. Distant vivid lightning. We started off at Lake Calhoun, the lightning there was.. eh to say the least, not so impressive. It was beautiful. But it was few and far between that we would actually see a bolt, most of it there would just make the clouds light up. So we decided to move a little closer to home. By that time, the storm was starting to move out and the lightning was amazing. Hope you like the shots.
